Polyvinyl alcohol-citrate-stabilized silver nanoparticles as an optical sensor for selective colorimetric determination of sildenafil

A facile and sensitive colorimetric detection method for sildenafil citrate (SLDC) has been developed by using polyvinyl alcohol-citrate-stabilized silver nanoparticles (PVA-Cit-AgNPs). The sensitivity selectivity of were investigated in detail. PVA-Cit-AgNPs could be induced to aggregate immediately the presence SLDC, especially after addition 0.1 M HCl solution. SLD detected response AgNPs that monitored a UV-Vis spectrophotometer or even naked eye. linear range was found 0.6-5.0 ?M with calculated limit naked-eye determined as low 0.6 ?M. proposed is successfully employed determination SLDC commercially available tablets. Meanwhile, excipients present pharmaceuticals do not interfere assay procedure.
